Decorating Tips from The Inspired Room

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I've posted anything??? We are still in limbo over here at the Treasure's Household which makes it difficult to concentrate on anything other than our current situation. Fingers crossed we've got the one person at BofA that's not an idiot working for us. Anyhow, I figured I'd better give you guys a little something to hold you over before you start dropping like flies!! ;)

Stop by The Inspired Room to see her take and tips on Anthropolgie style decorating. Her post was from a year ago but it still rings true today. Enjoy!

A Lil' Valentine and a Makeover..

Do you celebrate V-day?

The older I get the sillier I think it is.

Mostly because in my younger days, I placed far to much importance on this day.

No one could live up to the expectations I placed on it!

Now we just do a little something and call it a day.  So on that note.....

Now for the Makeover. Remember this little lady Hope?

If not, you can read about her here.  I couldn't make up my mind on what color to paint her so I decided to take a vote. The majority vote went to this.....

which I had every intention of painting. That is, until Mr. Treasures said....

"You know, after seeing Tracy's shop, I want to paint that hutch red"

Now how can I possibly say no to that??

It's completely a coincidence that Hope is making her debut on Valentine's Day!

We're currently debating, should we rough her up or maybe slap a  little glaze on her?

Or maybe we'll leave her alone. She really looks great. Oh and yes we are painting the room again!!!
As hard as I tried, I couldn't live with the greay.

Yes, I realize it's spelled incorrectly. Since I never know,  is it grey or gray?
I've decided to just add them both.

Here's another look at her with her "jewelry" back on...

Oh and I almost forgot, Happy Valentine's Day to me....

My new curtains are going to look fanTASTIC!!

WHAT?

Makeover Monday on a Tuesday?

A Tuesday evening no less!!

I told you yesterday, Tracy trumps all!

Anyhow, not sure if you remember this piece or not?

I picked it up from Goodwill over 6 months ago for $19.99. I blogged about it but for some reason I can't seem to track down the original post.

Anyhow,  one of my goals for 2011 was to paint at LEAST one piece of furniture a month.  Sounds easy enough but I hadn't been able to dedicate any time to it previously.

Since I had an extra pep in my step thanks to my surprise visit to Tracy's on Saturday, I decided Sunday morning that I would get started on a project.

No matter how big or small. I went hunting through the garage and discovered this dresser all over again!

As I started taking survey as to what I'd need to fix her up I noticed that every......

single....

drawer.....

had different contact paper and one of them even came complete with....

a dead cricket. See him in the top right corner?

Surprisingly the paper peeled right off without any problems and in no time she was sanded and ready to paint.

AGAIN with the sideways photos!!!  I can't wait till I get my computer back!

Here's a better look at it....

I LOVE the way it turned out!

Now I just need to accessorize and start my gallery wall!!

Since that piece was such a breeze and really my first piece of 2011, I decided I'd go for two in one month!!

Next up?  Remember Hope ??  You all voted for Kelly Green with a little chocolate glaze. So look for her soon!!

Two Words.....

TRACY PORTER!!!!!

Have I mentioned before how amazing Mr. Treasures is????

If not, let me go on the record now and tell you...
He IS.

You see he woke me up early Saturday morning, picked out my outfit and said "Let's go"

Next thing I know we are on our way to Santa Barbara to go to Tracy Porter's STORE!!!

I was so excited I could barely contain myself during the 2 hour drive!!

The thought of being able to just take in all that lusciousness in person???

WHAT could be any better??

Oh I don't know, maybe......

MEETING Robyn?!?! Who by the way has to be THE nicest woman I've EVER met.  She let me drool and make a fool of myself the entire time I was there. Happy to oblige in my Tracy Porter madness. Not only did she let me take photos of everything, she even told me she was having dinner with Tracy that night and would tell her I said hello. Such a sweetheart!!

As for the store?? A-MA-ZING!!!! It oozed with character and charm.

I was so caught up in my own personal heaven that I actually had to remind myself to take photos.

These simply will NOT do it justice but here's a couple of shots I managed to pull myself together and take.

Sorry about the photos!?! I've rotated them and saved them but for some reason they still load this way?? I'm just to excited to share this post to sit here and figure out what the problem might be!!

And what the hell, even sideways these photos are gorgeous! ;)  If you are ever able to make the trip out to Tracy's store I highly recommend you do! And when you're there, tell Robyn I said hello!!

Stop back by tomorrow for a Monday Makeover post!

Yes I know it will be Tuesday but Tracy trumps all.

P.S. almost forgot to tell you about the gorgeous blouse I got for only $60!! Photos to come soon!

Update

I wanted to stop in and give you a quick update.

We finally got a hold of someone at BofA with a brain!!!

He agreed that  our case was not handled correctly and stopped the sale.

AMEN!!

Now we have to start this process all over again.

At least this time we will only deal with this gentleman in the "Escalation Dept"

With the good news, I decided a little retail therapy was in order.

Say hello to my new pillows....

My camera battery was dead so I had to use my cell. Not to worry though, you'll be seeing this pillow and it's twin in future posts!!

I also took a ton of  "Lunch time inspiration" photos!! I'll be uploading those to the facebook fan page tomorrow! Make sure you visit the page to see!!

Before I go I want to say a HUGE thank you for those of you who've left comments, said a prayer and have been so supportive.

Thank you!
