For 11 years I have been fortunate enough to stay home and raise my children.
I can't express how happy I am that I was able to be with them every step of the way thus far.
Let me start by telling you that I wasn't one of those girls.
I didn't have fairytale dreams of white weddings, or homes with white picket fences filled with children.
Truth be told, I didn't think I'd ever have either.
Don't get me wrong, It's not like I sat around dreading the possibility.
I just never thought about it at all, until it happened.
Once it did- WOW!!!!
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING prepared me for the affect Motherhood had on me.
I don't even have the words to express what it has meant to me.
All I know is I can't even imagine my life without them!

Well sadly when the economy tanked the future of this SAHM was looking grim.
We hung in there as long as we could.
However, the time has come.
Monday morning I will no longer be a Stay At Home Mom.
I will be joining all the rest of the Mother's who work full time.
Although something tells me I'm going to look more like this...
So I guess I'd better start coming up with a game plan so I feel more like this....
Any tips?
Along with the computer problems from last week, this was the other reason I wasn't blogging as much.
I've been frantically shopping trying to put together outfits on a budget.
The shopping part?
SO much fun!!!
The budget part??
NOT!
Stop back by Monday morning to see me Makeover my wardrobe and a little furniture!

happy weekend,

Congrats on the job and the wardrobe (even if on a budget)! I'll be thinking of you on Monday - just remember that now your time is even more valuable than before. I find that I say "no, thanks" to alot more as a working Mom, and I cherish all the little moments with the kids even more. Good Luck on your first week back in the workforce and blog when you can! Thinking of you!
ANG! I am so very proud of you! I may not tell you often enough, but you are one of my favorite people in my life. You are an inspiration to me! I will miss our morning conversations that last for hours, I will miss having you to call when I need my house cleaned (we got alot done while chatting). I will miss the luxury of just being able to call you when something fantastic happens or I need an ear to cry in to! I am so happy for you and I just know that you are going to be fantastic in your new job! Let's be sure to make time for each other on the weekends! Remember I am ALWAYS here for you and if you ever need me, I am a phone call and car ride away! I LOVE YOU MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND!!!! CONGRATS on the job!
Angie, you will do fine! Being a working Mom is tough, but I find that I am actually more productive than when I'm at home!LOL. Just let go of the little things. Best of luck Monday, can't wait to see what you are going to wear! {At least going back to work is a good excuss to buy new clothes} ;)
Angie, YOU CAN DO IT!!! I have a feeling that I am not far behind you. You are fortunate to have found a job worth working in our CA economy. It will be a huge change for you all but I know you will all get through it:) I admired you when you were blogging about all the fun stuff that I am interested in and admire you more now for stepping up when your family needs you!!!! :)
{{hugs}}
Angela....if anyone can do this, it is you. You are an over-achiever and cannot possibly fail. Remember...H&M and Foreva 21! I will be available on TUes & Thurs for watching..REALLY! Please don't give me the "You are so crazy busy, I don't want to add to it" because that is what friends are for. I will be over soon to swim! Remember...this is not our life forever...just a little pitstop!
This is a huge step! I worked as single mother with my first. I took him to the office with me three days a week and nannied the other two. I didn't want to leave him. I couldn't wait for the day I was married and could stay home. Then once it happened I went a little stir crazy and couldn't wait to go back to work lol. Now that I've been home almost 7 yrs I can't imagine going back! I am excited for all the kids to be in school so I get some me time back sans children but I do not want to go back to work. I love being my own boss and I know when the day comes to pull my weight in the workforce again exactly what I need to do to make me happy. So as long as this job is the one for you, it will balance and become a good fit. We'll miss your pretty face online as I'm sure it'll be a little more scarce but just think about all that money you'll have to buy treasures and clothing with!!
Thank you ladies for all your encouragement! ;)
good luck Angie! I'm glad you enjoyed your shopping. I'm sure you look and more importantly DO fabulous!
YOU CAN DO THIS! Enough said!!! I did it full time a few years back when my girls were young and yes it was very tough on me and them, but we all adjusted after awhile and we were all better for it! Love ya!
Good luck to you!! Our finances could use me working as well...I have been thinking about it but not sure what I'll do yet. We have some things in the works...
Can't wait to see your wardrobe...what will you be doing?!!
Congrats on the new job Angie! In this economy, it is very difficult to stay working let alone rejoin the workforce.
You should be a Home Makeover on a Budget Consultant.
Hey Lady - just wanted to tell you I was thinking about you tonight. Good Luck tomorrow!!!!
Good luck to you, I have been there. You'll have to learn to let some things go. My motto always was no one dies and wishes they cleaned more, enjoy the kids when you can!!!
I totally understand everything you are going through right now Angie. I too never thought much about motherhood growing up and wasn't prepared for how wonderful it would be. I didn't think I'd be able to afford to be a SAHM either. 18 years later and we somehow managed to make things work but now we are also struggling and our one and only is off to college. I'm teetering between getting a real job and trying to earn some income from doing what I'm passionate about. I feel the pressure daily and wonder and pray if this is the time to be following my dream. Sometimes we think something is not what we want when it just might be what we need. My thoughts, prayers and hopes are with you as you start this new journey of yours... I think it's going to be positive for you and your family. I wish you all the best and can't wait to see you styling your new look :)
Much love,
Terri
Angie - as you go out into the big bad world be comforted by the knowledge that everything you need to know you learned in Kindergarten.
* Share everything.
* Play fair.
* Don't hit people.
* Put things back where you
found them.
* Clean up your own mess.
* Don't take things that
aren't yours.
* Say you're sorry when you
hurt somebody.
* Wash your hands before you
eat.
* Flush.
* Warm cookies and cold milk
are good for you.
* Live a balanced life - learn
some and think some and draw
and paint and sing and dance
and play and work every day
some.
* Take a nap every afternoon.
* When you go out in the world,
watch out for traffic, hold
hands and stick together.
* Be aware of wonder.
* And then remember the
Dick-and-Jane books and the
first word you learned - the
biggest word of all - LOOK.
Have a wonderful first day of work. You can juggle it all because...you are da da da da da daaaaaa TREASURES WOMAN!
Good luck! I hope you love your job. :) That should make it easier to go back to work. I'd go back too if I just knew WHAT to do that would make me happy. Keep us posted on how it's going.
Best of luck to you. I went back to work when Kyle was only 9 months old. I am one of the few women in the world that was never cut out to be a SAHM.
You will find a way to make it all work and balance everything out . I am sure it will take time but your kids are old enough to help out a lot and clean up after themselves.
.....oh and the crock pot will now be your best friend! I have several amazing recipes if you are interested I can send them to you. I love having dinner ready when I get home and then only have one pot to clean up makes it even better!
Good Luck Angie...this economy has really changed the lives of EVERYONE, and it stinks. I wish you the best out there in the workforce!
Good luck with your job! This will sound simple and silly , but make friends with your crock pot.
It is easy and simple. Hot meal ready when you get home , and you don't have to start dinner. It's already done.
