What matters most....

It’s not the house, nor the things within

It’s not the career, or staying thin

It’s not a vacation taken abroad

Nor time spent online with my favorite blog

What matters most is a girl

and a boy

A most precious gift, and my pride and joy

What matters most is their beautiful face

And raising them right, with patience and grace.

Not sure who the author of this is (if you do- let me know) but it sure feels like they had me in mind when writing it.

The Boys left for Lil' Man's 6th grade Science Camp Monday morning...

The day after Mother's Day!?! Gone for a whole week!?!? No cell phone service!?!!

Don't these people know what kind of freak I am?!?!

I just can't believe that this Lil guy is going to be in Junior High in just a few months?!?

I just can't help myself from feeling like this...

(click on the photo- Lil' Man's in the front seat waving goodbye)

and this...

are going to happen MUCH more very soon. I'm going to do my best to try and stay IN the moment now but I just can't help feeling like i'm trying to......

BEAUTIFUL POST ANG!
I know EXACTLY how you feel.
Just take comfort in knowing that he is ready and you have raised a fine young man and he is going to do GREAT! We will definitely be spending the morning of their first days of Junior High and High school together. We will need each others support. :o)

This is a great post!!!! Love it!!!:) I have a photo of my two in a wooded area as they are walking away. I took a lot of photos like that...still do as they are my favorite. Let me just say...your kids WILL grow up too fast!! My Jackson is almost a SOPHOMORE! I get choked up just writing it. Where has the time gone? Glad I'm not alone...graduation is gonna be TOUGH!

I love the poem, so sweet!
I bet your house will stay mighty clean this week :O)! They do grow up so fast. Kyle will be 14 in July and start HS in the fall. He has gotten to the point where he would rather hang out with friends than with family and spends all his time running around out side with his dog or on the phone...{{sigh}}

Junior High??!!! AGGHH. I'm sniffling for you. Why can't they stay little and at home forever?
The picture of them walking together down a path made me weepy.

What a sweet post, my "baby" graduates next month. And our 2 older sons are grown and gone. So... I know what you are feeling.

That was a sweet poem and very true! For my son's science camp they wouldn't let any parents go.....no cell service etc. He didn't go. If I knew of one or two parents going not just teachers (I would have only known his) then maybe I would have felt better. JR high is right around the corner for my guy too. He is ready, I am not.

PC- Really?? No parents? My Lil' Man would have stayed home too!

Oh, sweet!!! This makes me cry, Ang! My girls are only 6 and 3 ... yet reading this has helped me realize how FAST it all goes. Thanks for helping me STOP and slow down and enjoy right now (and what really matters about right now). Wonderful job on this one, dear!
