Well..

I was really hoping for a grand makeover Monday post but I just wasn't able to pull it all together in time. I give myself an A for effort though!

And since I'm grading myself, how about an A for budget savvy,

but then there is that C- for meeting self imposed deadlines.

If you've been following along on facebook (which you do! right???)

Then you know that I have been working on a make over for Lil' Red's room.

Let's take a look...

Here's a close up of the bed detail..

It's an actual antique that I scored off of craigslist about 3 years ago for $100.00

Here's a view looking from her closet...

Ignore the hideous red chairs on the left. They will be recovered shortly.

After gathering information on paying someone to cover them as well as the price of the materials I liked,

I decided that we are going to go a different route and I'll be trying to cover them myself.

I'm thinking...

I'll make a white slipcover and use the flat sheet to add a little detail? Then just add the black pillow from Ikea and call it a day!

Your thoughts??

The room still has a long way to go! We need curtains, lamps, wall art and a rug but for now....

Lil' Red is quite happy with it!

Here's a quick view of the other side..

MAJOR work in progress still!

The armoire is leaving (a fun feature wall will be in that spot)

The teeny tiny desk is leaving and will be replaced with a larger one that I scored for $10.00!

I'd love to go into more detail but it's a GORGEOUS day in Southern California!

The Lil' Man is off to play football with some friends and Lil' Red and I are headed to the park.

I'll fill you in on more later!

Angie, That is a great craigslist find! I know! Isn't is incredible how expensive how expensive it is to have something covered! I think your idea of doing it yourself is a fantastic idea!
Have a pretty day!
