Operation Christmas 2010

Operation Christmas 2010 was a HUGE success!!

Mr. Treasures called in every favor and managed to get the kids everything on their "must have" list.

Along with a few "extras"

Do you watch Human Target?

Well it turns out Grandma Treasures works with Chi McBride's sister in law.

He plays the character Winston.

The Lil' Man LOVES the show.

This is the entire first season autographed.  It says "Thanks for watching "Lil Man"

Lil' Red loved her extras as well..

It cracks me up how animated she is.

Always the goofy character!

There is no mistaking what this one feels!

Then there is Lil' Man, always calm and reserved.

Yet, there's no mistaking what he feels either.

Yep, Operation Christmas 2010 was a HUGE success.  Hope yours was as well!

Angie

P.S.  Everyone is still in their "Christmas Coma" right now so I've had some time to catch up on a couple blogs. One I haven't visited in a while?    Tracy Porter, this post had THE most beautiful images of her yard all dressed up for Christmas at night. Stop by and check it out!

Christmas already!?!

Can you believe it's Christmas already!?

Where did this year go????

It seemed like it was on fast forward for the most part, except for a few times that were painfully slow.

Like learning to punch a time clock again after all these years.

I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it looks like the Treasure's household has adjusted pretty well.

Lil' Man made honor roll

and Lil' Red made high honor roll.

The difference??

Lil' Man is in Junior High now and realized

"We're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy"

I'm in no way saying that honor roll wasn't enough. I'm very proud of the job he has done.  It's just that everything academically has always been very easy for him, so he assumed Jr. High would be a breeze. He quickly realized that effort would be necessary.

Lil' Red is still in elementary where the grading system is Advanced, Proficient, Basic and Below Basic.

In order to get high honor roll 70 % of her grades had to be Advanced with nothing below a proficient.

You might be wondering why I'm talking about their grades. The reason?

They have NEVER known anything but Mom at home, volunteering at school, driving them to the  library and giving them pop quizzes!

I was worried their school work might suffer if I wasn't there like I had been before.

Silly huh?  I know. I can really work myself up when it comes to my kids.

But I don't have to tell you guys that now do I?

For awhile there, after school care was a HUGE concern. There were several unsuccessful attempts to find after school care to my liking.

Just when I was about to have a melt down, we were lucky enough to have a family friend volunteer to take care of the kids after school.

The best part?  She stays with them at our home so they can have the closest thing to what they've always known.

As for me? I've slowly started to navigate my way through a new "normal" but still haven't managed to figure out how to carve out time for some creativity.  It's all a work in progress I guess.

As for Mr. Treasures, well he's a trooper like always. In all this craziness that has been our life these last couple of years he has remained my number one fan and on occasion my knight in shinning armor.

In fact- he's out in all this madness right now, taking care of our Christmas shopping and he'll be heading back out tomorrow as well!!!

All together now....

 Awwwwww what a sweetheart

Merry Christmas....

   From the Treasure's household!!

How wrong is it hat I used a photo from last year??  :)

A Grand Finale and a Giveaway!!!

Stop by Designer Garden to see the Grand Finale!!

Today she's posting the Festival of Trees, where you can see the Treasures Tree in all it's glory.

Ok, maybe not all it's glory. I really need to get the manual out for my Nikon that I got for Christmas 2 years ago!!!!

Do you know how hard it is to photograph a tree!?!?

Here's one last sneak peek before you head over and check it out.

Remember the re purposing project Lil' Red was working on?

I gave her some left over Christmas cards from last year and with a little ribbon and her fish hole punch,
she turned them into ornaments.

After you've checked out the Festival of Trees, make sure you swing by Alice Lane to enter her giveaway!!

How perfect is this pillow???

A little more Christmas decor..

If you missed round one of Treasures Christmas decor, you can stop by the Designer Garden to start.

First stop?  The entryway....

Never mind the pencil mark on the wall. I found some GREAT wallpaper I was going to hang and well, that's as far as I got!

To your left is the chalkboard that used to be in the kitchen

I know, I'm a tad chalkboard obsessed.

Just past that is a stack of  thrift store books and a thrift store pot complete with a 99 cent store poinsettia!

To finish off the look is my PRICELESS pine cone discovered by my very own Lil' Red on her first trip to the mountains.
( I actually had to google how to spell poinsettia)

Once you make your way past that, you are greeted by....

Our very own Christmas tree picnic bench card display thingamajigger.

Yep! This is where we will proudly pin up every card that makes it's way over to the Treasures Household.

Just like this...

I got tired of taping them to the walls, mirrors or anywhere else I could stick them.

Let's continue on.

Just past the entryway is the dinning room where you'll see Lil' Red working on a re-purposing project

(More on that later)

Now follow me past the "kitchen tree"

My MIL bought the galvanized bucket for me at a yard sale a while back. I hadn't decided how I was going to use it until the stand for this tree went missing.

It was painted white so Mr. Treasures took a can of red spray paint to it...

Shhhh don't tell him- it's not the best paint job!

But hey, I didn't have to do it so I can't complain!

Now come on into the kitchen,

Where we can have a cup of coffee and talk about whether or not I'll ever

buy candles for my kitchen chandelier

and...

how bummed I am that I couldn't print the photos for this tree.

Here's a couple that I wanted to hang from the tree...

This was Christmas 2005. Lil' Red was so scared of Santa!

That was the ONLY way she was getting close to him!

and this next photo?!?

Is one of my favorites. The local outdoor mall had a snow machine.

The kids had a blast!

I sure wish my printer would cooperate!

Moving on....

Want another sneak peek of the Christmas tree?

You'll have to wait to see all of it on the 12th at Designer Garden!!

I'm in love...

With everything this woman does.

Her combination of vintage, casual, timeless decor, looks effortlessly perfect  and makes my heart skip a beat every time I see it.

Really

Now, you all know my love of Tracy Porter,  it hasn't gone anywhere. Tracy is still a HUGE favorite but I've been in the mood to change things up around the Treasures household and Kelley from The Polished Pebble has provided the inspiration for EXACTLY what I want.

Here are just a few of the amazing photos she's taken of one of her homes. YES I said one. These first two photos are of a home she just recently sold c.o.m.p.l.e.t.e.l.y. furnished.
What I would give to be that new owner!!

I believe this next one is from the home she owns in Ojai.

Have I mentioned that my dream is to live in Ojai?

We have family there,  it really is the best place to call home.

You know what else?

Tracy Porter just moved to Santa Barbara!!

TWO of my FAVORITE designers are living in the same state as me and only a few short hours away!!

Can you say ROAD TRIP?

(Is it strange that I'm a designer groupie?)

Kelley, Tracy, if your reading this- I promise I'm not a crazy woman.

Stop by and check out Kelley's blog and follow along as she decorates her new condo in Newport Beach.

Rough life huh!

ANGIE

P.S. you should also know that Kelley has a website where you can purchase her services local or not!

P.S.S. Don't forget to stop back by here Monday morning!!
My Christmas decor will be featured on Designer Garden!!!
