A quote and a question...

"Treasure this day, and treasure yourself. Truly, neither will ever happen again."
Ray Bradbury

Isn't that so true? But how often do we forget to live this way? I know I do all the time.

Have you ever been driving somewhere and once you arrive at your destination you have that split second where you think to yourself "WOW- how did I get here? I don't remember the drive." It's like you flipped a switch once you sat in the seat and everything was operating on auto pilot.

That's the best way I can sum up how I feel about this quote.

I know it to be true, but I operate on auto pilot far to often. It isn't until I come to a complete

that I realize something is wrong.

It's in that moment that I remember to treasure.

How do I loose sight of this in my day to day life?

Much like the drive to my destination, I have reminders along the way.

Instead of stop signs, street lights and yellow lines to keep me on my path, I have inspiring quotes and a plethora of books dedicated to this very message. Yet somehow I become numb to my surroundings. I operate on auto pilot.

Wake up, clean, pick up kids, homework, kids activities, cook, go to bed and repeat.

I'll carry on for any given length of time and then a moment of clarity hits.

So my question is, How do make a moment last a lifetime?

Wow deep post! I know exactly what you mean about being in the car on auto pilot. IT just happens.

I don't want my life to be autopilot either!

This was a great post, and I missed it...well now I found it LOL!!~ Happens to me all the time you lose that thought process of the moment you are in.....One thing I do acknowledge everyday is being here at the moment...as you never know when you will not be...I try to tell my boys to be kind to one another and love each other...because if they say something mean spirited to eachother, they can regret that, and not be able to take it back....my older one is starting to get it..Thanks Angie for your opinion, I do appreciate it!~

For me it's remembering to ask the Lord that question. And for help with the task. Asking him to help me treasure each day and to put things in my way to remind me when I forget.
