I logged on to my Pinterest account this morning and while browsing around for some inspiration I saw this...

I was curious, but at the time my desire to see images that evoked happiness and creativity was stronger. After finishing on pinterest I decided it was time to catch up on some of my favorite blogs. That's when I saw Kristin's post and the same image I saw earlier on Pinterest.

I don't know about you but I can barely afford to pay my OWN bills let alone anyone else's.

Still looking for my mojo....

I  tried painting a little last weekend which was a nice change from my normal as of late,  uninspired weekends. (If you follow along on the fan page you got to see the sneak peek photo)  That being said, it was still a bit of a creative effort rather than a creative flow. It has a lot to do with time, energy and $$$ but it could also be a bit of a creative block based on my surroundings. Which is why I plan to spend some time today following Miss Mustard Seed's organizational advice. My painting space, aka the garage is still packed to the rim and in disarray, even after unloading 80% of my inventory. I would show you a photo but it really is that bad and without an "after" to accompany it, I'm afraid your opinion of me would change. So for now you will have to use your imagination.  I am on a bit of a time crunch since I've already agreed to host a Treasures sale on November 12th. Which is a good thing. For starters, it will hold me accountable (which I seem to need lately)  and the money from the sale will help finish Operation Game Room.  Which is oh so close to being complete!!

This doesn't have anything to do with this post but I found it strangely enough while blog "stalking" and thought it was an amazing inexpensive idea. Something I definitely want to try!! Check it out on Design Stocker!

 The Treasures household has been a chaotic place to be the last couple of months. We are always trying to adjust to this new life we have and as soon as it seems we have a handle on it, there is some sort of surprise.

And I'm not talking about the.....

good kind.

The latest battle has been trying to speak with someone at Bank of America (who actually went to high school) about their mistake in regards to our modification. It's quite a long story that I don't feel like telling right now but it boils down to a HUGE screw up on their part that might actually cost us our home on Wednesday February 2nd.



So I might be posting even less (if you can imagine that) than I already am for a little while.

1. If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?


 My wife would never want to be anonymous!

2.Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.

This should be easy since she's only stubborn with me, but nothing comes to mind right now. or at least nothing I'm willing to put in writing.
3.What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
 
Angie's favorite cold drink is a Diet Roy Rogers. What's that you ask? It's a Diet coke with a shot of Cherry



5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?

Blog, of course! When she's not blogging, reading a blog, or looking for inspiration on the computer, you'll find her at any number of local thrift stores looking for hidden treasures.




6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?


Yes, to become a World Traveler. She always says that there isn't a place in the world that she wouldn't visit at least once.



7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever , the shy person, or always ditching?


Let's just say neither one of us know what her school mascot was.

 8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see?


I would have to say that the birth of both of our children were very poignant moments in her life.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?


 Angie has a friendly, outgoing, creative personality. Whether on the blog or someone in her every day life, It's very easy for her to share her true self.


10. If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
 
If she could figure out a way to do both at the same time, she would.

I had a client in mind when I bought them but her budget took a turn for the worse and the project has grown cold.  Makes me kinda sad that they are just sitting in my garage waiting to be loved.

They were going to be a lovely shade of aquamarine

 but

now that they might  not end up in her home, I'm thinking a different color might be in order?

Haven't chosen one yet and even if I had, well you know how that story ends!!

Treasures Thursday!

It's been a while since I've posted one of these. The plan was to have Makeover Mondays to show you how I transformed all my Treasures. The problem IS I started working full time and have had even less time to dedicate to the makeovers than before. I hope to find a balance very soon!! 

Anyhow,  the makeovers aren't the only thing I've fallen behind in....

The blog has suffered as well.


I've had posts that I've been excited to share with you but couldn't find the time to write them. 

I've received awards....

 that I happily accepted but then never passed them on (horrible, I know)

So even though it's late Thursday evening I decided, it's TIME!!

Now, this is a Treasure of a different kind.

This Treasure is friendship.

You see quite a few weekends ago.....

Nikki from....

Was having her first sale EVER!!!

I was so excited to see her stuff. She is TALENTED! Take a look for yourself....

This photo had all 3 of my favorites! The table, the zebra chair and the crates!!

The table and chair were already sold, so one of the crates came home with me...

Anyhow, Nikki and I have swapped stories and along the way became blog friends.

When I realized she was only about 30 minutes away from me I decided....

I'm going to her sale!

It's silly really, but I felt like I was going on a first date!

                                          I was so excited to meet her!

We all know how we feel about our blogging buddies.

How even though they are virtual, they add so much to our lives and truly become friends.

So much so that we wish they lived in our town, so we could meet for coffee and a Treasure hunt or two.

Well I got lucky enough to have that wish come true!!

So even though I'm busier than ever before..

(the same goes for Nikki too! Her stuff is selling like crazy!)

I plan on taking advantage of this Treasure and hangin' with Nikki again!!

What would I do without blog friends??

I  remember when the whole "Internet dating" thing started happening many YEARS ago.

I remember thinking "How ridiculous is that?"  and  "How could you possibly create a relationship that way??"

I frowned upon it sooo much that even my brother-n-law lied about how he met his girlfriend.

Who later became his wife....

and then the Mother of his children...

My nephew,  Peyton Cread Blythe

and my niece, Addison Emily Blythe (shown in the photo below)

And my niece Brynn Apryl Blythe, who will be arriving shortly

YAY!!!

Then it happened.

I started to feel the need to connect with someone (other than my adorable Mr. Treasures and my 2 angels)

Most of my friends worked outside of the home and if they didn't they were understandably busy during the day, and at night, well night time is family time.

At this time I had been following a few blogs and saw all the interaction taking place.

So....

I decided to start my blog and share all the things that I Treasure.

I thought that  if I had someone to chat with in between loads of laundry, that would be great!!

I had NO idea how much a part of my life those "someones"  would end up being.

Most of the time I end up talking about you guys more than my friends in "real life" 

I can say this to you because I know you get it.

So I just want to say a BIG, GIANT Thank you!!!

Last week my friend Trish from Me & My Boys was nice enough to pass this award on to me!!

Since it's Mother's Day I decided to make my top ten all about Motherhood!

We're usually quick to share the negatives and I mean "negatives" in the most loving way possible!

This will be a nice change!

So here they are, 10 things that make me happy about being a Mother,

1) Seeing my children succeed in anything from learning to tie there own shoes to passing  math tests.

Whatever it is, to witness the look of confidence and joy on their faces, there's nothing better.

2) Watching them sleep. Is there anything more precious?

3) The way their eyes light up when they see you

 (at least until they're 8yrs old)

4) Little hands and toes

5) Watching them discover new things

6) The way they smell fresh out of the shower

7) Snuggle time

8) Family game night

9) Hearing them read

10) Watching them grow

Nothing like the bond between a Mother and a Child.

I've literally sat here in front of the computer for the last 30 minutes trying to write this post. I'm finding it hard to  adequately sing this womans praise.  I am just not capable of such a task. Maybe it's because my vocabulary lacks the luster to really convey how I feel or maaaybee it's because I don't want her to change her email and take out a restraining order.

If your not familiar with The Frugal Designer, your missing out!

It is a good thing I don't live closer to her.  I would accomplish even less than I do already!

I sat down to check my emails yesterday and look what was waiting for me in my inbox...

My new friend Robin from http://robinsgohealth.com/

was kind enough to give me this award.

I'm thrilled to receive it! I know that my blog doesn't even compare to most of the amazing blogs that are out there. I'm not a writer, my grammar is horrible, my picture quality is poor, my text is plain and I don't even post on a regular basis.

However, when I do post, it's truly about something that matters to me.

So, thank you Robin and thank you to those of you who follow.

Have you seen this?

What a great idea for those of you that write so well. You can have your very own "coffee table" book. I'm even considering doing it (once I have more posts) ;) to give to my children when they are older. They will be able to look back and see what my struggles, triumphs and my passions were in regards to them and my life. I think it would go perfectly with the 35 scrapbooks I plan on giving each of them! HA!! :)

The end of the World?

It's 9/9/09 "The last set of repeating, single-digit dates that we'll see" According to Nostradamus and several other online posts today was supposed to be the day the World ended. Well, we made it past 9:00 am and it's now an hour past 9:00 pm so unless his watch has stopped, so much for that theory! ;) However, it was the day my Dashboard would cease to exist. I don't know how but every one of the blogs that I follow have been wiped away from my dashboard!!!! I'm soooo bummed!! I mean there are the ones I follow faithfully (you know who you are)that won't be an issue to redo. But I had begun to rely on that thing more than I should have. There are blogs that I never looked at the name again after I tagged them as my favorites. Those are the ones that will be hard to track down again. Anyhow, sure am glad it was only my dashboard and not the world! ;)

P.S. anyone know any secrets to retrieving the list?


Ok so I logged back on this morning and miraculously all the blogs are back?? Very Strange!!!

Treasures!!! I am new to the blogging world. Every day I am amazed at the creativity and kindness that is being shared by all the blogs that I have started to follow. As I sit here and try to think of the right words to explain how I feel browsing there "special treasures" I realize that I logged on to get a couple decorating ideas and left being inspired about so much more! I can only hope to pass along some "Treasures" of my own! Hope you enjoy!
